Management of change software for Australian dangerous goods sites
Mocos helps you record, review, approve and track each change on your site in a clear management of change (MOC) record. You raise the change, check what it affects, record the decision and who approved it, and close it out. The record is then kept for at least 10 years, so you can show a regulator what was decided and why.
Who it's for
Mocos is for businesses that store or handle dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals in Australia, from a single store to a larger operation. A small site can finish a short record in about two minutes. A larger operation can use a staged workflow with more people involved.
What it does
- A short record or a 9-stage workflow. Basic uses the short record. Standard and Customised can choose either: a short record, or the 9-stage workflow to raise and screen a change, then risk assessment, approval, implementation and verification to close-out.
- Permanent, temporary and emergency changes. Screening asks about common change triggers and separates permanent changes from temporary ones, like extra stock "just for the busy season". Temporary changes are on Standard and Customised. Emergency changes are on Customised only.
- Quantity flags. Mocos flags when quantities approach the placarding or manifest thresholds used across Australia.
- Dangerous goods review prompt. Changes likely to need a dangerous goods review are flagged, with a button to request one from a dangerous goods consultant, paid per review. Nothing is shared without your consent.
- A company profile. Keep your site details, DG inventory, procedures, site plan, licence and manifest information in one place, so the right documents get updated when something changes.
- Your MOC register. Each change you raise sits in one register with an audit trail, and you can export records as PDF or CSV.
Why it matters
Most dangerous goods incidents don't start with something dramatic. They start with an ordinary decision, like a new chemical, a switch from 205 L drums to a 1,000 L IBC, a new forklift or a new contractor. Management of change is the recognised process safety practice of checking a change before you make it and keeping proof that you did.
In Australia, work health and safety laws, dangerous goods laws and Australian Standards all expect you to manage risk when things change. Guidance from regulators across the states and territories sets out what a good system looks like. Read why management of change matters, or browse the regulator guidance for every state and territory on Guides & References.
